Awkwafina

Awkwafina was initially an American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with topics like racial or sexuality with a humorous twist. In the years before she stepped into Hollywood, she was able to release a number of songs. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her first musical encounter. She performed on the trumpet. In the following years, she took up the classical and hip-hop genres. When she was in the college years, she remained focused on her studies and majored both in women's study as well as journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. The focus changed towards music after she finished her studies. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained viral hits including body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$1. The latter track connected directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in 2015. Her resume contained both an the musician and author. She was now looking to further her career in acting. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by"In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
